Chop your onions and open up your canned goods.
Cook at mid-warm and butter up your pot.
Add your chopped onions and stir until they have a buttery glow to them.
Add your grounded beef to the mix and add spices (e.g. chili powder, grounded pepper). Be sure to FULLY COOK your beef before you continue these instructions.
Once your beef has browned, add your beans and 1 can of water to your chili.
Cook with occasional stirring for roughly 5-8 minutes to soften the beans.
Add diced tomatoes and tomato paste to the pot.
Optional: Add another 1 can of water. Remember, the appropriate thickness of a chili is in the eye of the beholder.
Cook with occasional stirring for another 5-8 minutes while seasoning to taste (e.g. onion powder, chili powder, ground pepper, salt).
Sample your chili and determine how much longer your chili needs.
Serve in a bowl and add shredded cheedar jack cheese for the ultimate experience.
